Inventory insights - get to know your stock
Share
Knowing what you have in stock is key for everyday ordering, planning out sampling initiatives like a run of bulk mailers, and for forecasting production runs. Here are the two ways to view the stock of your products with Ghost Ship:
Stock View 1:
Your product view begins with a series of product collections. Once you click into a collection, you will have a view of all the products that comprise that grouping. By clicking on a specific product in a collection, you'll see stock information saying, for example, "We have 2 in stock" for that product.
This view of the stock data is useful when placing an order but it limits the user to viewing stock one product at a time. If you'd like a larger view of your overall stock across multiple products and categories we recommend utilizing our inventory Client Portal.
Stock View 2:
Login here to access your inventory portal. The inventory portal gives Ghost Ship users a real time view of your stock with details like product category, case quantities, order velocity, days until stockout, quantity on hand, and quantity available - to name a few. If you do not have access to your stock portal, email jstrauss@ghostship3pl.com to get set up with an account and login.
Our eCommerce clients get this information plus a view of the valuation details of the products on hand to get a clear understanding of how much value in $ they are carrying in real time.
Login here to access your stock portal. And to help understand what each column in your stock view means, here is a quick reference guide:
+: Click this to expand the details on an item(s) which includes details like expiration dates, lot IDs, and batch info (if available for selected items)
Img: Hover over the image icon to pull up a quick view of any item in stock.
Product ID: The item # assigned to a product in stock
Description: The product's title/name
Category: Products are assigned a specific category in inventory for faster sorting/reordering access. Click the Category column header to sort your products alphabetically by category to see items listed together like Print Materials, Tradeshow supplies, etc.
Sales last 30 days: Number showing the quantity of units shipped out of an item for the previous 30 day period.
Stockout (configurable): For clients utilizing our velocity reordering feature, this column shows the number of days left until an item will be out of stock.
Std packing units per case: The quantity of units in a case of product. For example, a jar of tomato sauce may be sold/shipped in individual units but our holding warehouse orders in case quantities when restocking. So a 6 count case of tomato sauce would show a value of 6 in this column.
On order units: Quantity requested by Ghost Ship on an open restock submission to the manufacturer.
Reservation units: Quantity of units reserved in open orders placed by Ghost Ship clients or eCommerce customers. These quantities are reserved but not yet shipped.
BOM quantity (configurable): BOM or Bill of Materials applies to a kit which is comprised of multiple individual units of product. For example, a product called "Coffee Kit 1" has a bill of materials including 1 x bag of coffee and 1 x coffee mug. If there are 2 coffee bags in stock and 3 coffee mugs in stock, the BOM value of this kit will be 2. The reason for this is the maximum potential build quantity of this kit is limited to the lowest value stock quantity in the products listed in the BOM.
QoH: Quantity on hand aka, the total amount of product physically located in Ghost Ship's warehouse.
Available: QoH minus the quantity reserved on open orders. For example, Product X has a QoH of 10. There is 1 unit reserved from an order that was just placed. The resulting amount of product that is Available to promise for other orders is now 9. Once this unit is shipped, the QoH and Available values will both equal 9.
Additional features: use the search boxes above these columns to enter a keyword search for products by name, id, or category.
